
Mengyu is the co-founder of the award-winningdesign studio TrayStudio and an architectural designer at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) based in New York City. With a Bachelor of Architecture from TsinghuaUniversity and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University, Mengyu expandser practice across architecture, art, and beyond to shape meaningful humanexperiences. Her professional journey spans an array of landmark projectsacross the world—including the San Diego International Airport, SingaporeChangi Airport, and Beijing Baiziwan Social Housing—which have been featured inmajor outlets such as CNN, Dezeen, ArchDaily, and more.
Her work has been recognized with tophonors such as Gold in the International Design Awards and the Muse Design Awardsand has been published in platforms such as Architizer and the Harvard UrbanReview.
As a multidisciplinary designer andartist, she explores the intersections of public space, memory, and identity.In 2024, she was invited to present “Letter to a Stranger” at “Art in OddPlaces”, a public art festival in New York City, with coverage by Artnet andother media. She has also exhibited work in the “Guangzhou: City of Design”exhibition, featured by China News and others.
